Via ferrataor Klettersteig, with the history of more than 100 years, is an increasingly popular sport today. Literally translated, “iron path” refers to the elements of insurance (ladders, stairs, bridges, metal cables, chains, artificial steps, and catches) pre-installed on the rock wall. These places can only be reached by experienced climbers without the help they have built. To travel the developed system, a special fuse via ferrata set/ klettersteig set is used, which basically consists of 2 parts. One is a harness that holds you at the thighs, waist and sometimes at the chest. The other part is an energy- absorbing double-edged bridle with two quick-release carabiners. One part of the bridle is hooked into the seat and the other part where the two carabiners are located is to be hooked into the securing points drilled in the wall. An essential part of hiking is the helmet that protects your head from falling smaller stones. The correct use of the equipment will be shown on site by our tour guides. This type of hiking requires some practice and physical endurance.
As these roads often lead to high altitudes, overcoming the spatial relationship is an essential part of this type of hiking. For via ferrata routes, those marked “A” are the easiest to complete, while those marked “F” are recommended for professional climbers only.
